What's Happening at Beno Towers?!
Scrum Down!
Monday, 27 October 2008 00:00
Once again the diary has been filled this month with meetings, presentations, and a lot of scribble where things didn't happen!

One of the best of the bunch was a corporate hospitality do at Old Trafford for the Superleague Grand Final, where hundreds of advertisers were entertained by some peanut hugging types and we met the rockin' Birchwood boys for the first time - we're already looking forward to their next gig!

With full page articles in a couple of the trade mags, we've been getting some decent coverage for everyone this month, and we've got some great stories for the coming months, including the prospect of working with a market leading sideloader company... The trade media are already thinking about 2009, so there's been plenty of face to face time, including the Logistics Link exhibition at Doncaster Races. In fact, we're already getting that 2009 feeling, having put together the first 'end of year' sales conference for Rushlift, this time at the home of 'posh rugby' Leicester Tigers.

In between, we just managed to fit in another round of bike racing - this time at Brands Hatch - and agree a sponsorship deal for Doosan at the Macao Grand Prix.

Sadly, it looks like the dreaded 'credit crunch' will put paid to extending the deal to British Superbikes, but we'll hopefully return to the idea one day in the not too distant future.

Vroom!
Friday, 26 September 2008 00:00
September went by in an absolute blur! That might be due to meetings and photoshoots in Edinburgh, Bristol, Scunthorpe, Northampton and Maidstone, but more likely down to a weekend watching bikes wizz round Donington and a few days in Tenerife!

We also had to wave goodbye to Sarah, who returned to college having probably decided on what she'd like to do in future (i.e. not this!). Good luck Sars!

The Storm Before The Storm
Saturday, 30 August 2008 21:48
It only seems two minutes since we were putting a front cover together for ShD and now we're at it again for Factory Equipment's Materials Handling supplement. We better get something sorted for HSS or we'll be in trouble!

There were also e-newsletters and those popping mailers to sort out, and a long trip to Northamptonshire - this time for Rushlift and our new found friends at Komatsu! Plus lots of web updates and correspondence with colleages all over the world.

Despite it being another very busy week, it almost feels like the calm before the storm, with trips to Ireland, Scotland, Holland and London all on the horizon in the next couple of weeks.

Beno spent more time than is heathy with bits of computer "arranged" on the floor, whilst Sarah got used to printer drivers and virus updates! Still, once again there's been plenty to keep us occupied, including mailers, corporate announcements, price lists and, as you might have guessed, enough network, printer and computer problems to drive you mad!

Luckily for us we've had Dr Calow and Stevie "Fat Boy Slim" Culham to keep us amused and entertained and in good spirits.

Cheers boys!

Frogs, Bikes & Newsletters

This week I have been mostly eating...

Wait, that's not right... let's try again.

We've been busy setting up this here thing, naturally, and putting the finishing touches to the Doosan global newsletter. Our top UK Doosan man, Watto, has been off (so its been quiet phone-wise!) but that hasn't stopped us looking at mailers and frogs and all sorts of bizarre jumping things.

It started with this month's cover ad we produced for Storage Handling Distribution magazine featuring a Chameleon. Never has a reptile generated so much discussion in the office. Thankfully, we've stopped referring to it as an Ig-You-Arna. Wait until the frog hops up...

Meanwhile, moving has been on Sarah's mind, whilst Beno has tried not to think about dropping his bike. Again.
